Disappointment at the Etihad

It was indeed a disappointing game at the Etihad stadium from Chelsea. One of those games where all eleven players had a bad day. It was as if they didn't turn up at all. The players looked tired and exhausted. On the other hand the City players looked fresh and more agile, which was obvious cause of them having no games during the week.
Chelsea failed to create anything whatsoever. They were too wasteful in the final third and also kept having defensive lapses time and again. Even Petr Cech looked out of form from the start of the game. Ramires & David Luiz seemed to be in a world of their own, below par would be too good a term to rate their performance yesterday. Even the likes of Hazard and Willian looked completely uninfluential during the entire game. That was proven by the fact that Chelsea managed zero shots on target in the entire match. Although Chelsea had a poor game but I don't understand why some fans have already started gunning for Salah calling him a misfit in this team. He should be given some time to settle in these playing conditions and I am pretty sure he will come good.
Few things that became pretty obvious from yesterday's game was that Chelsea need John Terry at the back leading the defence. David Luiz has become a complete misfit as a CB, he is at his best when he plays as a CDM. Mikel and Matic shouldn't start together. And lastly, Chelsea desperately need a world class striker in the summer.
It was a very poor performance from Chelsea but as Jose Mourinho put it in his post match conference 'football is at peace because the better team won', and at the start of the season if anybody had given Chelsea 6 points in the league against Manchester City and a bad defeat in the FA Cup I am pretty sure everyone at Chelsea would have taken that happily.
